Fall is just around the corner, though for Lindz and me, it will be continue to be summer for quite some time here in sunny So Cal! But, in the future we hope to include more colder weather appropriate styles since we forget that the rest of the country/world experiences temperatures other than hot, and really hot.
This week’s Stunning Style is a pants and jacket combo, which works great for colder weather, or even just a night on the town.
If you were near the convention center in LA this weekend, you may have noticed a large comic convention taking place, Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo. Despite the long lines and extreme heat, we did manage to spy some great geek chic outfits and merchandise around the exhibit hall.
Whenever I’m in a store, I’m always keeping an eye out for existing items that can be stylishly geeked up. Target is currently stocking these wonderfully colorful metallic PVC purses, bags and iPhone wristlet cases by Xhilaration.
I was immediately drawn to these, especially the iPhone cases, and could see an abundant amount of DIY possibilities with them. My local Target only had the blue iPhone case in stock, which wasn’t a problem for me, as I knew something fun and simple I could do to geek it up!
This week’s Stunning Style is an oldie but a goodie in terms of theme and style – You can never go wrong with a good pair of jeans.
Paired with some fun sneakers and a DIY top, this is probably the most casual and simple ensemble I’ve shown you. But hey, it’s Voltron-themed, so, you know, you can’t go wrong!
It’s no secret that we love the jewelry from 1928 Jewelry’s Marvel line. Both Scruffy and I have featured, and even worn, many of their pieces seen here, here, and here. You might not think about it, but being a chic geek isn’t restricted to clothing or home décor. As our highlight post on makeup artist Siyrn illustrated, makeup is a fascinating corner of the geek chic world that I believe is still a bit unfamiliar to some, if not most, of us.
I’m a bit skittish when it comes to makeup, so I’m always looking for advice and tips from magazines. I love the pieces that cover what a certain star wore, especially when they’re geek related. Nothing sells me faster on an item than being told it’s recommended if you want to look like Cersei from Game of Thrones, or is THE thing to get if you want to have those amazing red lips like Anne Hathaway did as Catwoman.
Hopefully you enjoyed some of the looks I found at Celebration VI! I loved the variety. I knew Dragon*con would be the ultimate goldmine though, of geek chic DIY ensembles, and it certainly did not disappoint.

I’m finally back from my back to back adventure attending Star Wars Celebration VI and Dragon*con! I was thrilled with the amount of stunning looks I saw girls wearing at these cons, and can’t wait to share them all with you.

I wanted to create an outfit that would be great for going out. I pieced it together with some basic items and then added the geeky flair with accessories and a cute crop top.
