Today’s DIY is fairly simple in terms of skill and really packs a punch when it comes to adding something colorful and geeky to an outfit. Check it out!
Geek Themed Tea – Pots, Blends, Strainers, & More!
6For the tea lovers out there, there’s been a growing collection of wonderfully geek-related tea items that have become available through licensed and fan-made sources. This post covers some of our favorites.
Kitchen items like these are great because they’re insanely geeky, while also being subtle. They’re the kind of item that livens up the kitchen at home, or at work, and is the kind of item that’s sure to bring a smile to a fellow geek’s face when they realize what you’ve got. Plus, functionality! I am a huge fan of functional and useful, geek-themed items for the home and office.

DIY Friday: Etched Glass, The Glassbender Way
4Not sure about the rest of you, but I find etched glass to be pretty awesome. It’s subtle, looks pretty, and can make a glass item look more expensive. Of course, I especially love glass wear with geeky designs etched into them.
What you might not realize, is that you can totally do it yourself!
Newly Released Geeky Licensed Fabrics
3When you rely on making stuff to compliment your geeky outfits, finding out that new licensed fabric has been released at Joann is a very exciting thing! I came across some of these designs a month ago, but they recently got a new license, Star Trek! So for those of you who love making geeky stuff like we do, here are some of the new fabrics you can find at your local (or online) Joann fabric.

DIY Friday: Comic Book Acrylic Nails
3This week’s DIY is a follow-up to our post covering geeky nail art you can buy with an example of just one of the ways you can make your own geeky nails to wear.
For those of us who might not be able to hand paint such tiny surfaces, decoupaging a set of fake nails with comic book pages is a great way to decorate your nails with geeky flair.
Keep Warm in These Geek Finds of the Week
5Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back to real life. In addition to that, for those of us in the northern hemisphere, it’s time to start bulking up our winter wardrobe. Even here in Southern California, we’ve been getting some pretty chilly temperatures, so I’ve been on the look out for warmer alternatives.
Thinkgeek:
Thanks for Making this Year Unforgettable
We don’t have an official post for today, but wanted to use the opportunity to thank all of you for making this year a great one. When we stared this endeavor, we weren’t quite sure how it would be received, or if there was a place for this kind of blog. But we were confident that someone out there would like what they saw, and are glad to say that there are many of you who do!
And next year is already looking to be full of wonderful geek style. There’s sure to be more jewelry and other subtly geek accessories from The Novo Geek, wonderfully chic and fun new clothing items from Her Universe, and Black Milk has just announced an official license with the Tolkien estate to release new Middle-Earth themed pieces in the new year.
So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our small corner of the web, and we can’t wait to share even more with you next year!
DIY Friday: Decoupaged Decorative Plate
2While shoes, wallets, jewelry, etc. are the most common types of items to decoupage, you can pretty much decoupage anything you set your mind to. For this DIY I set my sights on decoupaging a home decor item, a decorative plate charger.
You’ve probably seen them on dinner tables before, but might not have known what they were called. They’re large, purely decorative, plates used to dress up a table for special events, parties, holidays, etc. And they are a perfect way to geek up the dinner table in a subtle but fun way.
