We hope you’ve been enjoying our SDCChic series and that it’s inspired you to put together some great looks for SDCC or upcoming cons! Today’s entry comes from Crystal from Geek Pinata. Like us, she covers posts about geek fashion, conventions, and has recently been posting geek chic outfits of the day.
Crystal approached our challenge by putting together outfits that include con tips and really paid attention to the location (like the proximity of the con to the beach!)
Day Outfit #1
I love re-purposing swimsuits as bodysuits. Pairing this swimsuit with fun polka dot shorts really makes it stand out even more. Typically I can’t last long in heels, but wedges really are comfy! Alternatively, flat sandals would work with this. I’d throw on a red lip and black sunnies to round it out. I’m also still a fan of flower crowns, so I thought it’d be fun to throw one in there to finish it off.I have my reusable water bottle in there too because it’s important to remember it’s important to HYDRATE at the con! DRINK WATER!
Swimsuit: Black Milk Clothing
Shorts: H&M
Shoes: GoJane
Flower Crown: So Good Jewelry
Night Outfit #1
Continuing the Batman theme, I really enjoyed pairing this Batmanga tank with a soft and romantic lace skirt. A few bracelets and white heels rounds it out. I threw in the fun reflective sunnies since you may need them during long summer nights. (I recently posted this outfit on my blog too btw! http://www.geekpinata.com/geek-fashion-batman-jiro-kuwata-batmanga-top-lace-skirt-ootd/)
Tank: Hot Topic
Skirt: Zaful
Shoes: GoJane
Day Outfit #2
When I’m in San Diego, it’s inevitable that I’ll go to the beach too, even during SDCC! Pairing this Darth Vader swimsuit with cutoff shorts and flip flops is an easy way to be ready for both the con and the beach. Tying a flannel around the waist is a fun grungy look, and you can throw it over the outfit if you get cold while on the convention floor.
Swimsuit: Black Milk Clothing
Shorts: Forever 21
Flannel: Forever 21
Shoes: Roxy
Night Outfit #2
This Back to the Future dress is pretty darn amazing. I’ve worn this before with brown booties, a red cardigan and lace tights, but this time I decided to go with cute suede wedge booties, shiny accessories and some false lashes. Hello! False lashes means party READY!One note though: do you have any idea how much it killed me that I didn’t have a watch to go with this outfit?! I was letting out little sad yelps every time I looked at this outfit because I was sad I didn’t have a watch I could wear with it. I guess I need to fix that. (Editor’s note: We think this watch would be PERFECT)
Dress: We Love Fine
Shoes: Forever 21
