For the tea lovers out there, there’s been a growing collection of wonderfully geek-related tea items that have become available through licensed and fan-made sources. This post covers some of our favorites.
Kitchen items like these are great because they’re insanely geeky, while also being subtle. They’re the kind of item that livens up the kitchen at home, or at work, and is the kind of item that’s sure to bring a smile to a fellow geek’s face when they realize what you’ve got. Plus, functionality! I am a huge fan of functional and useful, geek-themed items for the home and office.
ThinkGeek is always a great place to go to for the newest and best geek things, and tea items are no exception! The Death Star tea strainer released last year continues to delight me, but it’s just one of the great tea items ThinkGeek has to offer:
Star Wars Death Star Tea Infuser
Star Wars Breakfast Beverages Set
Adagio Tea is like the Etsy site for tea blend creators. So many people offer geek-inspired blends that they have an entire section devoted to it called Fandom Blends. There are dozens and dozens of blends inspired by cartoons, anime, books, TV, etc.:
Etsy remains a great source for wonderfully crafted fan-made items like these teapots:
Disney came out with a fantastic range of Alice in Wonderland themed tea items, including blends, pots, cups, and strainers. Unfortunately they aren’t available through DisneyStore.Com, but you can find them online via Amazon and eBay, as well as at the Disney Resorts and Downtown Disneys.
Alice in Wonderland Tea Variety Pack
Do you have any of these items, or have any you would recommend that we didn’t refer to here? We’d love to hear about it! As always, feel free to connect with us on Facebook and Twitter. We hope you found this brief list useful, especially if you’re weren’t already familiar with the variety of geek tea items that exist out there!

The Austin Browncoats were at a convention a couple of years ago with tea blends based on Firefly, as well as some other fandoms, if I remember. They were on the Sereni-tea brand I think. They were delicious!
Tea geeks represent! I recently did a similar page on geeky tea items, I wish there were as many options for tea as there are for coffee, but it seems like we are getting closer all the time 🙂
