We had the opportunity this weekend to attend an event held by a fellow geeky blogger, Mandie of Geeky Glamorous fame. The event was located at Japan L.A. and featured art celebrating all that’s geeky, and girly! In addition to the artwork, there was even a contest for outfits that were fashionably geek along with some equally fashionably and geeky prizes.
Every now and again we like to do posts featuring some of the wonderful handmade creations we find on Etsy. We’re visiting purses again this week, but be sure to check out our previous post which covered some fantastic geeky purses on Etsy (and other stores).
Even if the purses shown in that post are no longer available, it at least gives you a shop store to follow that you know makes great geeky items.
When you rely on making stuff to compliment your geeky outfits, finding out that new licensed fabric has been released at Joann is a very exciting thing! I came across some of these designs a month ago, but they recently got a new license, Star Trek! So for those of you who love making geeky stuff like we do, here are some of the new fabrics you can find at your local (or online) Joann fabric.
Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back to real life. In addition to that, for those of us in the northern hemisphere, it’s time to start bulking up our winter wardrobe. Even here in Southern California, we’ve been getting some pretty chilly temperatures, so I’ve been on the look out for warmer alternatives.

One of my favorite way to make my outfits a little more geek chic is including a great piece of jewelry. It could be unstated or the focus of the outfit. While many of these may not be available in time for the holidays, you might be able to snag a piece or two in time to add to your New Years outfit. Or, you could just wear them everyday too!
