When posting our Stunning Style outfits, often I find that some of the items we’ve posted are often no longer available. That being the case, I wanted to post a collection of my recent finds both in store and online so that you have the opportunity to grab things while they’re still around. It’s no secret that we love the jewelry from 1928 Jewelry’s Marvel line. Both Scruffy and I have featured, and even worn, many of their pieces seen here, here, and here. For look #2, I put together an Avengers inspired outfit. I wanted to create an outfit that had a good mixture of DIY and licensed pieces. For those of you who have been following this blog from the beginning, you might recognize a lot of these items.
Today we have another tutorial for you involving over-sized t-shirts. After seeing The Avengers, I wanted to get my hands on some Hulk merchandise. Although, I couldn’t find anything like what I wanted, specifically fun tops, so I decided to make one for myself.
You may have noticed these two gems popping up on ThinkGeek recently (Bracelet here & earings here). These two pieces of jewelry are actually a part of a larger collection by 1928 Jewelry. They have teamed up with Marvel to release themed jewelry, and in my opinion, some great quality pieces for VERY affordable prices.
I’m on Etsy quite often, as I’m sure some of you are as well. But as there’s sometimes an endless amount of wonderful handmade items on there, there’s always going to be some fantastic find you’ll miss. Oh no! Joann Fabric & Craft has been releasing some pretty nice licensed fabrics, so I wanted to create something that would allow me to buy a few of them, as well as, make something that was Avengers appropriate. At the time, I wasn’t able to find any fabrics that featured all of the Avengers (that has since been remedied), but I did pick up this neat Captain America print. I decided that would be perfect for my next project, a fabric belt!
To show off my excitement for the Avengers, I wanted to make something fun and girly to wear in my hair, so here’s how I made the Avengers fascinator. This same method can totally be used for whatever you may be a fan of, so definitely alter it as you see fit!
Since today is the launch of our blog, what better way to celebrate than to focus on something big and geeky happening this weekend, The Avengers! What’s been great about this movie is that there has been a huge increase of Marvel related merchandise, so I figured why not feature a few of my favorites that I’ve come across. In addition, at the bottom of this post you’ll find my Avengers inspired outfit that features some DIY projects that I plan on posting tutorials of next week. So without further ado:
