DIY Friday: Fabric Covered Headband
1One of the best things about checking out DIY tutorials is getting inspiration for other crafts! When Lindz posted up her tutorial on making a fabric covered belt, I thought of a different craft I could use the same materials for: a fabric headband.
This is a really fun and simple craft you could complete in about an hour or two from start to finish, and given the variety of geeky licensed fabric prints out there, there’s really no limit to the number of headbands (or belts!) you can make for yourself and your friends.

11DIY Friday: Transforming Pacman Headband
2One of my first loves was video games so I was looking for something to make that would be fun and 8-bit. Pacman seemed like the perfect game to base something off of, and I came up with a great idea for an easy craft. The great thing about this headband is that you can switch it around depending on your mood!\
DIY Friday: Let’s Get Ripped! Shirts, That Is…
8It’s Friday, so let’s tear it up, literally, with today’s DIY! I love it when gals take old and/or overly large shirts and alter them into a fitted, trendy top. This is an especially fun thing to do with all the men’s shirts you find that have awesome geeky designs you love.
You want to wear that design, but you want to look cute wearing it, right? Me too, and so even though there are so awesome and crafty designers on places like eBay and Etsy selling ripped up, slashed, tied back and twisted geeky shirts, I decided to try my own hand at it.
DIY Friday: Captain America Fabric Belt
5Joann Fabric & Craft has been releasing some pretty nice licensed fabrics, so I wanted to create something that would allow me to buy a few of them, as well as, make something that was Avengers appropriate. At the time, I wasn’t able to find any fabrics that featured all of the Avengers (that has since been remedied), but I did pick up this neat Captain America print. I decided that would be perfect for my next project, a fabric belt!
DIY Friday: Glittery Avengers Hair Fascinator
To show off my excitement for the Avengers, I wanted to make something fun and girly to wear in my hair, so here’s how I made the Avengers fascinator. This same method can totally be used for whatever you may be a fan of, so definitely alter it as you see fit!
Avengers Ensemble!
1Since today is the launch of our blog, what better way to celebrate than to focus on something big and geeky happening this weekend, The Avengers! What’s been great about this movie is that there has been a huge increase of Marvel related merchandise, so I figured why not feature a few of my favorites that I’ve come across. In addition, at the bottom of this post you’ll find my Avengers inspired outfit that features some DIY projects that I plan on posting tutorials of next week. So without further ado:

I actually picked this shirt up at Old Navy last week. I love the vintage look along with the soft fabric it’s printed on.
DIY Friday: May the 4th Be With You…and With Shoes
14This is the first of many DIY posts we hope to do. In honor of May 4th, “Star Wars Day”, here’s a fun decoupage shoe tutorial that shows how you too can sport your own pair of Star Wars heels or flats.
