One benefit to living in Southern California is our proximity to Disney. Which means, whenever we’re in the area, we love checking out Downtown Disney to see what new items they have in the stores.

Marvel Novelty Jewelry Closeout Sale
As you might know, we’re big fans of 1928 Jewelry’s Marvel pieces around these parts as seen here, and here. Which is why, when I talked to them at Comikaze, I was extremely sad to hear they would not be renewing their Marvel license after the end of this year. Perhaps the only good to come out of this news is they’re now offering their pieces at 50% discount!
To refresh your memory, here are just a few of our favorites that they carry:
Spiderman
Superhero in Training: Geek Workout Gear
2When I was in school, I was pretty much convinced that I didn’t have an athletic bone in my body. I preferred the comfort of art club, marching band, and my video games over team sports. However, all that changed when I discovered weightlifting earlier this year.
I’ve finally found something that I not only love and makes me stronger, but that also makes me feel like a superhero in training. However, when it come to geek clothes to workout in, I’m sorely lacking.
Inspired by this Instagram photo from Her Universe where she’s rocking a Wonder Woman shirt, I was curious to see what options are out there for active geeks.
Marvelous New Items from Tokidoki
Tokidoki is probably one of my favorite companies when it comes to Marvel gear, and I love how they continue to expand on the characters they feature. They just recently released their Spring 2013 line, so I wanted to see what items they had. Check it out below!
DIY Friday: Comic Book Acrylic Nails
3This week’s DIY is a follow-up to our post covering geeky nail art you can buy with an example of just one of the ways you can make your own geeky nails to wear.
For those of us who might not be able to hand paint such tiny surfaces, decoupaging a set of fake nails with comic book pages is a great way to decorate your nails with geeky flair.

Great Geek Bedding at Pottery Barn Kids
Awesome geeky merchandise being in the kid’s section of stores has never stopped this geek, and it shouldn’t stop you either! Just because some marketing or licensing department thought such-and-such item should be for kids instead of adults, or boys instead of girls, should never stop you from wanting it, and getting it.
That’s definitely true when it comes to the awesome geek-themed bedding that can be found at Pottery Barn Kids.
Stunning Style: Look #12
4Fall is just around the corner, though for Lindz and me, it will be continue to be summer for quite some time here in sunny So Cal! But, in the future we hope to include more colder weather appropriate styles since we forget that the rest of the country/world experiences temperatures other than hot, and really hot.
This week’s Stunning Style is a pants and jacket combo, which works great for colder weather, or even just a night on the town.
Change Your Bookmarks for the New Home for Marvel Jewelry
It’s no secret that we love the jewelry from 1928 Jewelry’s Marvel line. Both Scruffy and I have featured, and even worn, many of their pieces seen here, here, and here. While 1928 Jewelry was the original home for all this fabulous stuff, they’ve created a different brand name for anything Marvel called JewelM, and now have a new home located here: http://www.marvelnoveltyjewelry.com/

4Hopefully you enjoyed some of the looks I found at Celebration VI! I loved the variety. I knew Dragon*con would be the ultimate goldmine though, of geek chic DIY ensembles, and it certainly did not disappoint.
