A few weeks ago, we had the amazing opportunity to attend Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim. The place was abuzz with anticipation over the next film, and the exhibit hall was full of amazing costumes, props, and our favorite, Star Wars fashion!
One of the amazing fashion collections we had the opportunity to get our hands on was the new Goldie and We Love Fine collaboration. If you remember anything from their last collection, you won’t be surprised to know that their booth was mobbed the entire weekend. Luckily, for those of you who couldn’t make the show, you won’t have to miss out. We have an exclusive interview with the designer in addition to the entire collection that goes live today!
First tell us a bit about yourself and your role with We Love Fine.
I’m a lover of all things furry and a gangsta of all things cute!
The first Goldie x We Love Fine collaboration was a really a nice departure from what WLF is typically known for. What kind of influences did you have when creating this line?
My influences for this collection were Jabba the Hut and Bert Reynolds.
With this being the second Star Wars line you’ve released, how did you approach the designs for this specific collection compared with the last? What were some of the challenges?
Goblins and bounty hunters were my extreme obstacles for this next collection. Once I defeated them I was good as gold!!!
Which pieces from this new collection are some of your favorites?
All the stretchy scuba items are killer from this collection!!!!
You recently released the collection at Star Wars Celebration. Were there any particular pieces that people were really responding to? What kind of trends are we starting to see?
Role playing and gender swap was the trending buying pattern at the SW celebration show. I loved seeing that……….
I noticed a vintage vibe with many of the new pieces, especially the tops. What was your inspiration for that?
Less is more. Classic, clean and stark was the approach mixed with elevated fabrics and bodies !!!!
With the new Star Wars movies just around the corner, does that mean we can expect to see more from you guys in the future? Any plans for including the new characters?
Yes and Yes !
To get your hands on these pieces, check them out here! I think a lot of these will be perfect for the summer and I’m especially loving the Han Solo shorts. Did any of you have the opportunity to pick any of these up at SWCA? What’s your favorite piece? I plan on rocking the Tattoine tank next week for May the 4th.
