Australia is home to not one, but two, awesome clothing companies ready to dress the geeks of the world! Launched in 2012, Living Dead Clothing is one of the many companies to have started in their wake, making their unique mark on the spandex clothing world with their design motif of chibi and zombiefied character artwork. Featuring mashups of fandoms, from Disney Princesses dressed as the Doctors to Batman characters as kitties, their designs and artwork set them, and your wardrobe, apart!
Looking for the card that speaks to that extra special geek bond between you and your love? Look no further! We’ve waded through Etsy to bring you some of of our favorite geek-themed Valentine’s Day cards in today’s post. Hopefully they’re just what you’ve been looking for, or will inspire you to create something yourself!
This time of year, my social media pages are full of people trying to motivate themselves to be more fit and workout. Now, while I’m not fond of those inspiration images usually seen around Pinterest telling me what I should or shouldn’t do, I am fond of messages that get me a little more pumped up to go to the gym. Especially, when those messages are nerdy AND on workout clothes. Activate Apparel is a company I touched on back in this post, and since I’ve been seeing them pop up on friend’s pages, I figured checking out their new stuff would be worth a look.
This past weekend we had the opportunity to attend the third annual Comikaze Expo. Since this con is relatively new, it means that there were many vendors that I don’t normally come across. The best part was how much great geeky stuff I stumbled upon.
While we love to create various DIY projects, sometimes it’s great to look at what others are making when it comes to all things geek chic. I think, in part due to my desire to spring clean, I’ve been looking for ways to update my own home decor, so I gathered some great Etsy inspiration. Being that I’m big into retro gaming, I used that as my jumping off point, and here’s what I found!
I’m not a gamer, but boy do I love Tetris. This week’s look pays homage to a game from the good old days that is still played and loved by millions!
The bold, fun colors of the Tetris blocks allows for easy accessorizing with colorful jewelry, shoes or additional clothing to accent one or more of the block colors. Be super geeky and chic with this look and enjoy a stylish night out on the town.
After a bit of a hiatus, Stunning Styles are back! Today’s style is also a little different than what we typically do.
Black Milk Clothing, the beloved spandex company of many a geek gal, is currently offering Free Shipping. But, you need to hurry, as the free shipping offers ends FRIDAY, 5pm AEST! That’s Australia time, so be aware that the time difference basically means this deal ends late Thursday night. So if you’ve been wanting to purchase a piece, now is a great time to save at least $12 by not having to pay shipping fees.
Don’t forget though - if you order over $200 in the US, you WILL incur customs fees. So just make sure to place multiple orders that all total less than $200 to avoid getting charged those customs fees. And why not? With Free Shipping, this is the only time placing multiple orders makes sense!
Happy Shopping fellow Geek Sharkies!
