Tomorrow we’re heading down to San Diego but we have just one more SDCChic entry for you, ours! We couldn’t issue a challenge without taking the opportunity to put together outfits, and here are a few we’ll be wearing throughout the weekend.
We’re just days away from the biggest con of the year, and we’re continuing with our SDCChic series with some new outfits put together by Emily of The Stylish Geek! Emily is known for her geektastic outfits of the day, cosplay, and is one of the lucky few part of this year’s Her Universe fashion show.
Similar to Mandie, her outfits feature a signature piece paired with different accessories. Additionally, her evening outfits are inspired by cosplay, and even feature some handmade pieces made by Emily herself.
We hope you’ve been enjoying our SDCChic series and that it’s inspired you to put together some great looks for SDCC or upcoming cons! Today’s entry comes from Crystal from Geek Pinata. Like us, she covers posts about geek fashion, conventions, and has recently been posting geek chic outfits of the day.
Crystal approached our challenge by putting together outfits that include con tips and really paid attention to the location (like the proximity of the con to the beach!)
Over the years May the Fourth has gone from a little known unofficial holiday celebrated by only the most hardcore of Star Wars fans, to a commercially known Star Wars extravaganza. Holidays or anniversaries of any kind automatically mean special deals from companies, and this year is the best we’ve ever seen for various Star Wars awesomeness!
A few weeks ago, we had the amazing opportunity to attend Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim. The place was abuzz with anticipation over the next film, and the exhibit hall was full of amazing costumes, props, and our favorite, Star Wars fashion!
One of the amazing fashion collections we had the opportunity to get our hands on was the new Goldie and We Love Fine collaboration. If you remember anything from their last collection, you won’t be surprised to know that their booth was mobbed the entire weekend. Luckily, for those of you who couldn’t make the show, you won’t have to miss out. We have an exclusive interview with the designer in addition to the entire collection that goes live today!
Next up in our Holiday Gift Guides are some of our favorite selections of jewelry and watches currently available. While we’re a geek fashion blog aimed at women, we’ve included some pieces that would be great for either a male or a female recipient this holiday season.
Be sure to check out last year’s gift guides as well on Clothing, Jewelry, and Home/Office. Keep in mind that pieces we covered last year may no longer be available, there’s still a fair amount that are still around and worth a look!
Christmas is upon us once again! While this year’s Gift Guides are coming out a lot later than planned, it’s never too late for now (been watching too much 30 Rock), and for any of you last minute shoppers still scrambling for gift ideas, hopefully these lists will help you out!
But be quick, most online shops need you to order no later than Friday (today!) to arrive by Christmas. First up on our gift guides, some of our favorite purses/bags that will look great under the tree.
Our third installment of gift guides for the holidays this year features some great items for the home and office. From the kitchen, to the bed, and everything in between, you can show your geekiness off in style with any of these selections!
Last weekend, Scruffy and I had the pleasure of attending Comikaze both as panelists and as fans of the con. For us, the highlight of the con had to be the Geek Fashion Show. Seven designers had the opportunity to showcase their geek chic designs which ranged from dresses, to swim wear, and even shoes!
