While we’ve seen companies and blogs make use of the term “geek fashion week” in the last year or two to celebrate specific products or geek fashion in general, this year we finally see an actual Geek Fashion Week event! How exciting! Hosted simultaneously online and in L.A. the week of March 23rd – 29th, Geek Fashion Week is the brainchild of friend and fellow geek fashionista Dina Kampmeyer, along with a team of other fashionably amazing geeks. It’s time to level up your fashion.
All we can say is WOW! You guys are amazing. Last year when we ran the contest, we had over 30 entries which was a great number, but this year you blew us away with over 200 entries! There were some seriously great outfits, and I was definitely inspired to buy a few items after checking out all your photos. Now, let’s get to the good part, the prizes!
It’s that time of year again, one of the best weekends for buying great geeky items for your loved ones, and maybe even snagging an item or two for yourself! We’ve compiled a list of companies running Black Friday Deals and Cyber Monday Deals. We’ll be adding to the list as more pop up, and if you know of any that we may have missed, let us know!
It’s that time of year again ladies! Last year we decided to challenge ourselves and you with a month-long geek fashion contest we dubbed #NERDVEMBER. It was such a success that we couldn’t wait to run it again this year, bigger and better than before!
Not all of us can rock the cold of space with our rippling chest muscles exposed the way Khan could (and could he ever) . For the rest of us who would like to be a little bit warmer, and a lot more clothed, there’s a new release of Star Trek (and Star Wars!) themed Her Universe long-sleeved tees available at ThinkGeek!
There’s something to be said about the fact that I’m currently writing this post during a heat wave in Southern California. However, for the rest of you, fall weather is right around the corner. For this post, we’re putting together some great geeky finds that you can incorporate into your wardrobe as the weather cools.
This week marked 48 years of boldly going where no man has gone before. To celebrate, we decided to round up both licensed and fan made items that pay tribute to the beloved sci-fi series, Star Trek.
When it comes to animated films, there’s just something about Studio Ghibli films that really capture that sense of magic and wonder. From the stunningly beautiful visuals to the fantastical stories, these films have won the hearts of many. One thing that was missing was the ability to wear this beautiful art. However, thanks to the efforts of Her Universe and Hot Topic, we can now enjoy a new clothing collection!
It’s been quiet around here lately, and today’s post will explain just the reason! As many of you know, San Diego Comic Con happened recently, and with it came the first ever Geek Couture Fashion show. Scruffy and I were both lucky enough to be chosen to participate along with 34 other designers from around the country. I have to say, the competition was fierce!
For a few months, Her Universe has been teasing about a new license that, lets face it, needs some love in the female fashion world. Well the day is finally here! Her Universe has released the first of, lets hope many, new designs inspired by the Marvel universe.
