It’s been over a month since the first post where we let you know what awesome geek finds we were spotting locally. I’ve been popping over to Target and Walmart the past few weeks and they’ve both got some great geek items in stock right now.
This week’s DIY Friday is all about…makeup!
I don’t know the first thing about eyeshadow, let alone what shape and style of brush to use where, but thanks to fashion-forward, stylish geeks like Dawn Banks, even the least makeup savvy of us have the ability to look geeky beautiful.
This week’s Stunning Style highlights some great pieces from Her Universe! Featuring a Star Wars hoodie, Boba Fett top, plus some fan-made Star Destroyer earrings, I consider this my Empire-themed outfit.
I’m a huge fan of Her Universe products, so you’ll definitely be seeing other Stunning Style looks using her shirts.
Check out their footage below to check out this awesome and unique panel:
Panel hosts Ashley Eckstein and Cat Taber interviewed the winners at the close of the panel, including one half of your Set to Stunning team, Lindz! Check out the interview footage below and get another look at her amazing, originally designed Mario Bros. themed dress:
I’m still having Batman fever, so this week’s picks are all inspired by the Dark Knight himself.
I’m a lover of both older Batman franchises and the most recent, so I wanted to include a little bit from all of them. Luckily for us, there’s plenty to choose from! These were some of my favorites, and I’m just scratching the surface of what’s available.
One of the panels we were most looking forward to at San Diego Comic-Con was the “Are You a Geek Girl Trendsetter?” panel. Run by Ashley Eckstein voice of Ahsoka Tano and owner of Her Universe, the panel focused on geek chic outfits either made or put together by a variety of girls. She was joined by her co-host and fellow voice actress from Star Wars The Clone Wars, Catherine Taber.
I wanted to whip up something quick and easy for today’s DIY, and what better inspiration than The Dark Knight Rises! You can easily do this craft in about 30 minutes, and then wear your creation out to the movies.
In the spirit of The Dark Knight Rises coming out this Friday, the look for this week is a Batman themed ensemble.
A lot of my geeky outfits start with one piece, and grow from there. This Batman themed outfit was no exception. I started with the leggings, and the rest of the look pulled together naturally after that!
Sorry for the lack of post on Friday, we were knee deep in San Diego Comic Con. To make up for it, here are some geek chic items and some great geeky outfits we saw this year.
For look #2, I put together an Avengers inspired outfit. I wanted to create an outfit that had a good mixture of DIY and licensed pieces. For those of you who have been following this blog from the beginning, you might recognize a lot of these items.
